At the Northern Rivers Sailing Club we pride ourselves in offering the
most varied racing and cruising programme of any club in Norfolk.

We not only help get you racing and cruising in our home patch, Norfolk’s broads and rivers, but also offshore along our glorious East coast. Our regattas give you a chance to race on Barton, Black Horse, Wroxham and Oulton Broads and our cruises explore the Northern and Southern Rivers as well as the Rivers Orwell, Stour, Crouch, Deben and even the Thames, Swale and Medway.

Whether you are just starting out, a seasoned sailor, or perhaps looking to switch from sail to motor, we have a place for you in our friendly club. We always need new faces to join in the events or help with race management and timekeeping. Over the winter we have online training sessions from our experienced members, keeping you up-to-date with the “Rules of the Road”, how to rig and manage sails, or ensure your engine is ready when you need it.

We welcome folks from all walks of life and one of our objectives is to ensure wide participation and bring benefits to members of all interests, ages and abilities. Our weekly Sailing in Company events offer you an opportunity to make new friends, get help from the experts and practice your sailing skills in all sorts of conditions of wind and tide.

We know that we’re part of a Norfolk Broads boating community that includes many other clubs, boatyards, chandlers, engineers and charities. Everyone has a role to play in keeping the Broads a lively place for nature, heritage and leisure. We play our part in working alongside the Broads Authority, the Norfolk and Suffolk Boating Association and, of course, the RYA.

Our lovely little clubhouse on the banks of the River Bure near Acle is the focal point for our social events in the sailing season. Come and join us for BBQs and spend the night on our moorings. In winter we offer celebrations for the New Year, a Fitting Out Lunch and even a Commodore’s Call, with an interesting talk, a cream tea and a chance to win an original watercolour.

There’s so much on offer at Northern Rivers. I look forward to seeing you on the water!
